Alternative 2 Incarceration (A2I) is a program that brings together current and formerly incarcerated individuals, advocating for evidence-based alternatives to incarceration in our community. Research indicates that incarceration fails to address the root causes of antisocial behaviors, often exacerbating the issues. A2I promotes preventative, public health-based solutions when harm occurs, with a focus on closing prisons and establishing non-carceral rehabilitation centers.
