NEW BRITAIN – As debates about the economic situation and racial division in the U.S continue to be a concern for many, New Britain Racial Justice Coalition members look to reach out to make their corner of New England a more community-minded and welcoming place.
NEW BRITAIN – The city’s Common Council met Wednesday night and discussed a resolution that would amend a portion of Chapter 17 of the city’s Code of Ordinances regarding park use. The change proposes residents be required to obtain a permit from the board of Park and Recreation commissioners to reserve any area or place in any park for special or private use by groups of more than 25 persons. The proposed change would also require that applicants submit requests at least 60 days prior to the event.

NEW BRITAIN – An invitation for a free breakfast with a side of good conversation is being sent out by the New Britain Racial Justice Coalition.
Set for Saturday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at Right Now Ministries, 147 W. Main St., the free breakfast is a collaboration between the coalition and the ministry to build community relationships, to have conversations, and to educate each other.
